How does WCW work?
When you "watch" a character it is added to our global Watch List and every 24 hours we scan the WoW Armory and look for changes to the attributes and gear of those characters. If there are any changes we add them to the history we maintain so we can display them when needed.
When do you start collecting history for a character?
The history starts from the time any user adds a particular character to their watch list.
Why should I register?
When you register you gain two features. Firstly you will be able to add characters to your own private Watch List, and secondly the ability to produce a Watch Report which shows any changes to the characters you are currently watching. You can filter the Watch Report by date so you only see the changes that occurred in the last week, or month, or from a specified date.
Why does a number sometimes appear in the enchant column for gear?
When you query a character using the WoW Armory gear enchants are specified as a Permanent Enchant ID. Unfortunately, there is no way to look up these IDs and get the spell information, so any information listed in the enchant column is maintained manually. More enchant details should become available over time.
How come WCW sometimes shows people as unguilded when I know they are in a guild?
We rely on the WoW Armory to supply our character information. We have noticed that sometimes characters appear to be unguilded (even when looking directly at the armory), when in fact they are still in a guild. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to prevent incorrect data being return by the Armory. This can also happen to some other attributes. From our experience this issue seems to mainly be related to the US Armory.
